This is a unique concept bought to our customers who want to give their parties a wow factor. For groups of 6 or more people we offer set menus with a difference. The dishes cooked are from homemade recipes handed down to Asian families from generation to generation. The reason they are off the menu is because the dishes are prepared using a handi cook technique which can take up to several hours. Cooking large amounts of this without knowing how much will sell leads to a lot of wastage and is therefore rarely seen on Indian menus across the UK. Some of the dishes on offer at the Taj are using authentic recipes from the friends and families of the owners, foods that they regularly enjoy at their own family events. The unique flavours and new tastes experienced from these dishes are truly remarkable as the lengthy cooking of the sauces marry the spices in a completely different way, truly a feast for the senses. Some of the dishes that are on offer include:

Garlic Mushroom Pakoras – button mushrooms deep fried in a batter of roasted cumin seeds, gram flour, chill, onions and garlic.
Dall Bhajia – small rounds balls of shallow fried split pea lentils, mixed with onions, coriander and fresh green chillies.
Sylheti Lamb Bhuna - Lamb cutlets slow cooked with whole spices, tomatoes and garlic.
Shahi Korma – Jointed chicken pieces cooked with caramelised onions, garlic, ginger and whole garam masala, the sweetness coming from the onions. Unlike any korma you have ever tasted before.
Butter Chicken – this recipe comes from a small village in Punjab using a mix of fenugreek, cashew nuts, coriander, green chillies and tomatoes.

To be able to experience some of these dishes for yourself and your friends we require 48 hours notice and a 25% deposit. We sit down with you and design a menu which usually consists of five courses with prices starting from £19.95 per head.
