Taj Wins for Best Restaurant Design and Ambience at the Curry Awards 2019


Winners for the 9th annual English Curry Awards 2019 have been announced following a wave of nominations from across the country and a lavish awards ceremony held in Birmingham for finalists.

Taj Tandoori, Cambridge has been crowned the winner for Best Restaurant Design and Ambience. Taj Tandoori was crowned the winner at the awards ceremony in Birmingham on August 19th 2019 at the Birmingham Conference and Events Centre.

The awards aim to recognize and reward the hard work, determination and dedication of those in the country’s booming curry industry. Taj Tandoori was ranked as the number 1 restaurant in Cambridge on TripAdvisor in 2018 and holds onto the position of the best Indian Restaurant in Cambridge on TripAdvisor in 2019 and won the Takeaway of the Year Award at the Cambridge News Food & Drink Awards 2018.

Brothers Syed and Julal manage the front and back of house, respectively. The British born Bangladeshi boys are an amalgamation of the two rich and influential cultures they grew up with. The menu they have created is a true and honest reflection of their upbringing & personalities. You will find authentic Bangladeshi dishes, good old British Curries as well as fusion dishes with Indian, British & even Chinese twists.
